In the near future, we will increasingly interact with humanoid robots and other virtual agents on a daily basis, but will our social interactions and expectations of these agents be the similar to those we have of humans?

Dr. Mohammad Obaid will address this question in a guest lecture at the National University of Singapore this Friday. The lecture will focus on understanding people’s perception of humanoid agents that are embedded in our environments, drawing upon research in human-agent proxemic behavior, spatial relations, and social empathy. Afterwards, Dr. Obaid will also present some of t2i’s current HCI research projects.
